This is a rough mock up that I have created using Adobe Photoshop. It meets our criteria as it is simple, and bold. It will draw attention to the type, which is the focal point of the piece. I have used strong bold colours which is attractive and appealing. I have focused primarily on type, however we will develop this idea further to come up with other solutions.
